The Meat and Livestock Commission (MLC) no longer exists.
It was wound–up on 31 March 2008 as part of a re-organisation of levy boards by the British Government. MLC staff have been transferred into a new levy board structure which is now in place operating as the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB). Much of the MLC’s work in support of the British cattle, sheep and pig sectors is being continued by the following organisations:
BPEX Limited (English pig sector)

Hybu Cig Cymru / Meat Promotion Wales (HCC)

HCC is the industry-led red meat authority for Wales. It seeks to develop profitable and sustainable markets for Welsh red meat to benefit of all stakeholders in the supply chain
Quality Meat Scotland (QMS)

QMS is accountable for all MLC levies raised in Scotland. It works with the Scottish red meat industry to improve its efficiency and profitability and maximise its contribution to Scotland's economy
Meat & Livestock Commercial Services Limited (MLCSL)

MLCSL provides independent services to the red meat industry including carcase classification, training, inspection, logistics and data capture
